Initial Start-Up and Network Connection
Proceed as follows to be able to use the WM ID Remote:
- Connect the VCI cable by using a T10 screwdriver (not included in the delivery contents) to the WM ID Remote.
- Connect the WM ID Remote to the Wi-Fi network. For this connect the VCI plug of the WM ID Remote with the diagnostic connection of the vehicle and proceed as follows:
CAUTION
Short circuit and voltage peaks when connecting the VCI
Danger of destruction of automotive electronics
Switch off ignition before connecting the VCI to the vehicle.
NOTICE
Switch on the vehicle ignition after having connected the VCI to the vehicle. Communication is impossible without ignition switched on.
NOTICE
After having connected the VCI the orange LED lights up permanently after a few seconds. This indicates that the WM ID Remote hardware is ready for operation.
The WM ID Remote Wi-Fi module is online if the green LED top right flashes as well. Now you can establish a network connection.
- Go to Wi-Fi settings of the PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone, search for the Wi-Fi "connectorxxxx" and establish the connection.
- Use the browser of the PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone to open connector.help and connect the WM ID Remote to the requested network.
NOTICE
The green LED is flashing fast now. This indicates that the WM ID Remote tries to establish a connection to the selected Wi-Fi network.
If the green LED flashes faster, the WM ID Remote is connected to a Wi-Fi network and searches for a connection to the server.
- If the green LED is permanently on, the WM ID Remote is connected to the server and ready for operation.
- After having connected the WM ID Remote with the vehicle, use the browser of the PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone to call up wmid-remote.com/de/wm-id-remote-starten and enter the registration data.
- Select the requested service in the menu and do the subsequent steps.
